We are back at it again with more NFL reactions. This week had some terrible head to head collisions, surprise wins /losses, and a Kawhi appearance??
Let’s get into it.

The week started off with a surprisingly exciting Thursday night football game. Maybe players should play with four days rest more often. Let’s turn it into the NBA. Quantity over quality. Carson Wentz had himself 3 TDs and out-dueled Aaron Rodgers. The Packers must be pretty damn bad seeing as they lost to an Eagles team that lost to the Falcons. The Falcons. Rodgers had a good day on the ground with 5 rushes for 46 yards, but you know it’s a bad day when your QB is the leading rusher on the team. Maybe Aaron Jones can step up next week.

The Lions vs Chiefs game was waaay closer than expected. And who would have predicted Mahomes throwing zero touchdown passes? Keep in mind that this is a Lions defense that got torched by Kyler Murray and Larry “Thick Boy” Fitzgerald. You’d think Mahomes would have had at least one no-look TD in him. Matt Stafford, on the other hand, came to play. And you know he would have gotten the dub if it weren’t for the terrible Lions defense. Man this team needs an upgrade. And by upgrade, I mean Megatron.

The Browns surprised a lot of people with their performance on Sunday. Nick Chubb finally gave Bill Simmons and other fantasy owners the performance they’d been waiting for, rushing for 165 yards and 3 TDs. When you’ve got a wide receiver who can throw, that really opens up the run game for a team. This game was a perfect example of just how random the NFL can be. Like someone tell me how the Titans can dominate the Browns, but then the Browns go and dominate the Ravens? So now the Titans should throttle the Ravens, right? In reality, I doubt they would. There’s clearly a lot of parity in the league, which isn’t a bad thing for the NFL. It was top heavy enough in the NBA.

The Patriots had a close call with the Bills on Sunday. As would be expected, considering the Bills are likely the best team in the AFC East. I completely forgot that Matt Barkley was in the NFL, but he played himself a good game in place of Josh Allen. And Frank Gore gave the Patriots ground defense some trouble. Old is gold in this league. Brady and Gore are proving it. And although Brady had -3 rushing yards, I think him and Frank are the two best rushers in the AFC.

The Chargers vs Dolphins game was way too close for comfort for any Chargers fan. The Dolphins took a lead in the 1st Quarter with a nice pass from Josh “Not Kyler” Rosen. But the game eventually went south for Miami, as it always does. Phil Rivers was able to get things going. And even Tyrod “TyGod” Taylor had a pass completion for the Chargers. What’s even better news for the Chargers is that Melvin Gordon may be coming back for the Bolts next week. Guess being stingy actually worked out for one of these NFL teams.

Out West, the Seahawks upset the Cardinals with a 27-10 victory. But in all seriousness, it’s looking like the Cardinals played their best game of the season in week 1, when they ended with a tie. It’s better than a loss I guess. But on Sunday, Chris Carson had himself a game with over 100 rush yards for the Hawks. The Seahawks defense also had no trouble getting to Kyler “Shorter than Russell Wilson” Murray. The Oklahoma alum was sacked 4 times, and was pressured all game long. Yet somehow, we still do not appreciate quality lineman in this league. Maybe fans should start buying Tyron Smith jerseys. At least the majority of lineman are consistent, unlike the QBs on at least 20 of the teams in this league.

Minshew Mania was back in action on Sunday. The former Washington State maniac cooked up a comeback win for the Jags. And Leonard Fournette had 225 rushing yards?? He must have been playing against a Pac-12 team. And speaking of college football teams, the Broncos dropped to 0-4, which should be expected when you have Joe Flacco “manning” the ship. I wonder if John Elway can still heave the football. He might be a better option. And I think he’s younger. Denver needs to give Rolls Royce more touches. And that’s not a biased Duck fan saying that.

Daniel Jones got himself win number two. However, he did throw two interceptions against the Skins… and that’s bit concerning. Although Danny Dimes is Eli’s protege, we can give him the Peyton treatment. So if he throws two picks but gets the win, lets just call him a winner. No questions asked. In all seriousness, I think the Giants found their guy. And OBJ might have actually been happy playing with this dual threat QB. Perhaps Odell wouldn’t have thrown so many kicking nets if they had found a guy like this sooner.

I do not have Marcus Mariota figured out in the slightest. Some games he looks great, and then others he looks absolutely terrible. On Sunday he actually looked pretty decent, throwing 3 TDs and 0 interceptions. The zero turnovers was quite a rarity for him. And Derrick Henry also had himself a game with 100 yards rushing. He’s no Chris Johnson though. On the other hand, Matt Ryan looked like Second Half Super Bowl Matt Ryan with zero touchdowns. Austin Hooper balled out for the Falcons, but he was the only guy who put up decent numbers for them.

The last game we’ll cover this week is Rams vs Bucs upset. And it sure looks like the Rams are not the team that they once were. I mean how do you let Jameis throw 4 TDs? Most CFL teams wouldn’t let him on the roster. The Rams defense allowed 55 points to a team that has Mr. Crab Legs as their quarterback. Not a good sign for the rest of their season. You’d think a Kawhi appearance would stop the Bucs from getting a road victory. Guess not. And how about those fans who booed the Claw for showing up to the game? Lakers fans are a piece of work.
As always, if you have made it to the end of this post, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my reactions. Next week should be another exciting one. I can guarantee some injuries.
